Cultivating a Culture of Green and Active Transport
In addition to enhancing transport policies and improving infrastructure, TTSS also recommends providing more promotional and educational programmes to encourage people to adopt green and active transport modes and cultivating a culture of travelling safely in Hong Kong.
We recommend further promoting public education to raise citizens’ awareness of green and active transport modes, and equip them with the knowledge of road safety as well as understanding of the rules of using bicycles and electric mobility devices. Meanwhile, we also recommend organising more promotional campaigns, aiming to encourage the public to walk and cycle more, while providing information on cycling facilities and routes more effectively to improve their overall cycling experience.
